Morning Workout – Yoga Energizer (DVD)


I am NOT a yogi. In fact, this is me doing yoga:

Awkwardly forces body into rough approximation of what the instructor is doing

Holds pose for five seconds, starts trembling…

Spends remainder of time wondering how much longer until we can move and trying not to think about how many papers I have to grade

^^^ Yep, that’s me.

BUT, I LOVE Sara Ivanhoe, and this is one of three workouts of hers that I regularly go to when I need to work on my flexibility (and balance). Yoga Energizer comes bundled as a bonus workout with the Crunch Fitness Candlelight Yoga DVD. It’s a 15-minute workout designed to wake up and energize the body and help you begin your day in an alert, yet relaxed state. Poses include a standing modified version of cat/cow, deep squat (think butt almost touching the floor) and side bends.

To get Yoga Energizer, you’ll have to purchase the Candlelight Yoga DVD (I also love this one!) – get the DVD, NOT the digital download:

As an alternative, I found a workout of Sara’s on YouTube – Sara Ivanhoe’s 20 min Yoga Makeover. It’s not exactly the same, but it’s close and anyway, I like everything by Sara. Enjoy!
